Details

Reproducible on Firefox 38.0.5 beta 1 (Build ID: 20150510205200) and latest 40.0a1 (2015-05-10) Affected platforms: Mac OS X 10.9.5, Ubuntu 14.04 x64 and Windows 8.1 x86 Pre-requisites: User is logged into Pocket. Steps to reproduce: 1. Launch Firefox. 2. Go to a random page. 3. Disable your network connection or go to Menu bar -> File -> Work Offline 4. Click the Pocket button from the toolbar. Expected result: A panel stating there's an issue with the user's network connection is properly displayed. Actual result: The panel is dismissed too soon (under 5 seconds).

This shows the "Page Not Saved" + a couple sentences of explanation. But the dialog closes in 5 seconds, even when the mouse is over the dialog (which normally suppresses the autoclose). (Bug 1162033 covers the case of hovering over the button itself, but particularly in this case when a long error is shown we shouldn't quickly close the dialog.) Users should only encounter this error dialog rarely (we hope!), but it's pretty bad UX when this happens.

Moving to p3 because no activity for at least 1 year(s). See https://github.com/mozilla/bug-handling/blob/master/policy/triage-bugzilla.md#how-do-you-triage for more information
Priority: P2 → P3
Severity: normal → S3

This issue is not reproducible anymore using the latest Firefox 124.0 build on Ubuntu 22, macOS 12 ARM and Win 10. I'm closing it as WFM.
