From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:0.9.6+) Gecko/20011215 BuildID: 2001121508 I already proposed once in a Mozillazine thread. I think Mozilla should have some kind of logo people can put on their web page like "use Mozilla now" or "Get Mozilla". When I proposed this people told me that this would be unncessary because people who lay emphasis on standards can use the different W3.org logos. I still believe that some kind of logo would be nice. First: many people still don't know that Mozilla exists, a logo would be a simple way to tell them. Second: AFAIK no browser supports the combination of standards Mozilla does (XML, Favicons, <link>-tag etc.) therefore sites which only Mozilla (and not eveven Netscape 6 can display 100% correct are possible. Some posts thought that this kind of logo would seem arrogant to non Mozilla users. I don't think so. If the logo says "Get Mozilla Now" instead of "Best seen with Mozilla" I don't see the problem. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. No logo available. 2. 3.

> http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/enter_bug.cgi > Tech Evangelism: For reporting web pages that must be upgraded to support web > standards and Mozilla. 1. Obviously this isn't evangelism. > Mozilla should have some kind of logo 2. It does. The red dinosaur and the 5 point star. If you mean we need a **banner** image, then that is a different issue, though I am not sure that we need any more... > many people still don't know that Mozilla exists ....snip.... > If the logo says "Get Mozilla Now" instead of "Best > seen with Mozilla" I don't see the problem. 3. Contrary to popular belief, Mozilla is made for testing purposes, not to become a mainstream browser. It's purpose is to provide a good basis for other browsers from what I gather from many posts by Mozilla officials. If you want to promote a browser, it would be a better idea to promote Netscape 6, Galeon, Kmeleon, etc. instead as they are targetted at end users. 4. The wise may encounter what they seek utilizing little more than their wandering googly eyes, and timely hints. 5. Dupe :) *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 78710 ***

1. Obviously it isn't so obvious that this isn't evangelism, since the dup has also been posted as such. 2. Yes, Mozilla is for testing purposes only, but since there is not other browser for Win that takes advantages of all its features (Netscape neither supports favicons nor the <link>-tag at the moment), it's quite difficult to promote another browser.
