It looks like bug 1168612 stopped running gtest and the other check tests, at least on linux64. Since then they don't show up in any of the build logs on m-c and try builds I've looked at.
I checked by searching for 'Finished running GTest' in the complete logs, which seems to be a reliable check.

Morgan, could this be related to your taskcluster work in bug 1155749?

The taskcluster jobs are running in parallel with the buildbot jobs. We did have to modify FF because of a kernel bug that broke gtests here -> https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1162965 but that preceded June 3rd.

This is bug 1168612. There's a fix in that bug that can't land until a test that's started failing has been fixed or disabled (bug 1175752).

These are re-enabled and going green in https://treeherder.mozilla.org/#/jobs?repo=mozilla-central&revision=c9a79ec16280 I'll close this bug once that merges around.
