BuildID: 20011201
I would like Mozilla to be well prepared when the application/xhtml+xml mimetype
finally makes it here. Currently XHTML allows for users to put in their other
markup types such as MathML, etc., using XML namespaces. I would like to see SVG
and SMIL markup supported inside the XHTML source in a future version of
Mozilla. I would also like to see something supporting manipulating the <img>
tag 's behavour with SMIL, which I noticed on a tutorial somewhere on SMIL.
I looked at Netscape.net's Plugin API docs, and found it very unfavourable
towards what I wanted to see, even if support for svg and smil being asked for
from the src attribute of an <img> tag, it would make me happy.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open a page with SVG or SMIL in it
2. Watch as it does nothing
3. :P
EDIT: I noticed an SVG section, but no SMIL section.

See http://www.mozilla.org/projects/svg/ for SVG. There are SVG-enabled Mozilla
documents, though SVG is only supported as a standalone document at the moment,
as far as I know.
Also see bug 93321 for SMIL support (or rather why it's not happening any time
soon).
Over to SVG to decide on the SVG issues in this bug...

Midair...
This is a duplicate of highly visible (currently 36 votes) bug 26186, which is
now FIXED, but not in nightlies yet. Also a duplicate of bug 93321, which has
been marked WONTFIX. Plugins currently sound like the best proposal for SMIL
within Mozilla.
