since commit https://github.com/mozilla-b2g/gaia/commit/5ec7ddb86de7d851b5fc7b945a62b9f2ff2ff651 landed on master we have the API that is needed for the timer and alarm functionality.

this prototype calls all the methods needed to implement these features and can/should be used as a reference.
