Actual results: Spell checker (both inline and run seperatly) stopped working. No spelling errors are every identified. I downgraded back to 31.6.0-1 and it works again. Expected results: It should work as normal.

Most likely a duplicate of bug 1175908. This is Linux, so here the dictionary names changed from xx_XX to xx-XX, see bug 1097550. Set the language in Options > Composition, Spelling again. Make sure a spelling language is selected. If this fails, post pictures of the language selector of the mail compose window and the full spell check window. Note: Spell checking in TB 38.0.1 does work (and better than before), but there were a few problems which are fixed in TB 38.1 (to be released soon).
There was a spelling language selected (English/Antigua and Barbuda) I changed it to English/United States and now my spell checker works perfectly. Thanks!

If you can still go back to "English/Antigua and Barbuda" you will find that it will work, too.
