From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:0.9.7+) Gecko/20020108 BuildID: 2002010808 After a certain sequence of steps, the address bar becomes unusable. It will not accept keyboard focus or display the current url; the pull-down arrow appears right next to the favicon; and the throbber is missing. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. start up a fresh install of mozilla. I also started with an empty $HOME directory to avoid any possible complications caused by use of a non-default skin. The behavior is the same. 2. click in the url bar and hit C-e to move to the end of the line (the default url that appears is http://www.mozilla.org/start/ ) 3. type any character, so that the search popup appears 4. hit escape, click elsewhere, or perform any other action that will release the mouse grab. 5. click the strip at the left end of the navigation toolbar to minimize it 6. click the strip again to restore the navigation toolbar. Actual Results: The navigation toolbar is restored, but the history pull-down button is immediately to the right of the mozilla favicon, the url bar will no longer accept keyboard focus, and the throbber is missing. Expected Results: The navigation toolbar is restored as it was before. description seems remotely similar to 118360, but specifics are different. After restoring the navigation toolbar, if the browser window is enlarged horizontally the missing text field and throbber reappear from hiding, although strangely (e.g., the history pull-down button in the url bar is in the middle of the white field, with the url to the left and nothing to the right). A new window opened up looks and acts normally.
Confirming with linux 2002010808. This looks bad Also happens on theme switches (bug 116055) and Full screen mode (bug 117692)

Confirming on WinME 2002010803. This is ugly; note that you just have to get anything in the URL completion drop-down to show - it's not necessary to have the search item enabled there. I can attach a screenshot if anybody has a hard time understanding what it looks like.
