Windows 8 only 
I have no idea what's going on. But perhaps clock or aryx can suggest.

Not totally new crash however, because there are rare version 31 crashes - only 3 since March.

Looking at the stack, this seems to be about cleaning private data like cookies on shutdown (Options > Privacy > Accept Cookies from Sites > Keep until 'I close Thunderbird').
I'm not sure the shutdown symptoms directly relate to cause.

2. what is your setting for Options > Privacy > Accept Cookies from Sites ?
