Right click on embedded Youtube video


Actual results:

Copy URL does not work

No, the YouTube HTML5 player should pop up a text box that allows the user to copy the URL text with Ctrl+C.

Ayan: do you see the text box?

I noticed the HTML5 YouTube player tries to use Flash too, maybe it uses Flash to put stuff in the clipboard if possible?

Ayan: Do you have Flash, and is it set to click to play?

Hi Vladan,

I am running FF on Mac OS X and do have flash player installed (screenshot)

I can reproduce this on most pages that have embedded flash content, eg 

http://m.ibnlive.com/news/buzz/a-44-year-old-man-shaves-his-beard-for-the-first-time-in-14-years-his-familys-reaction-to-it-is-priceless-1026966.html

If I right click on the video, I do get an initial popup that says "Copy Video URL" but nothing seems to happen if I click on the same

According to the screenshots this is the HTML5 player, not the Flash Player. I can confirm this behaviour in Windows 7 x64, Windows 8.1 x86, Mac OS X 10.9.5, Ubuntu 14.04 x64, on all branches (39.0, 40.0RC build 4, latest 41 Dev Edition, and latest 42 Nightly).

There are 3 options that don't work: "Copy video URL", "Copy video URL at current time", and "Copy debug info". The issue was introduced by the new YouTube Controls UI. This issue also reproduces on Opera and Edge the same way, but works in Chrome (Windows) and IE (Windows). 

I'm not sure if this is something that YouTube needs to fix or us.

Seems to work for me on Nightly (Mac.) The copied text gets on the clipboard as expected.

Indeed it seems YouTube fixed this now as the options work and the text gets correctly copied. Verified with Firefox 39 on Windows 7 x64, Mac OS X 10.9.5, and Ubuntu 12.04 x86.
