psutil has methods that would make bug 950401 unnecessary, but we're failing to build it on 10.6 testers for some reason.

Thanks for the loan. The workarounds I had in mind aren't going to work as it doesn't appear there is a C compiler installed on the slave at all. Back to the drawing board!
