User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.10; rv:40.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/40.0
Build ID: 20150807085045
Steps to reproduce:
Simply through the normal operation of T'bird the Unified Trash Folder fails to keep an accurate count of the TOTAL # of messages which have been deleted. The Individual Trash Folder DO KEEP correct totals. This bug also appears to exist in the Windows version (#576966).
Actual results:
Immediately upon SELECTION of the Unified Folder the total is CORRECTED but the Unified Folder MUST be selected, or the program must be shut down/restarted for this to happen. The INDIVIDUAL Trash Folders DO KEEP CORRECT Totals at all times.
Expected results:
The Unified Trash Folder should keep a Correct COMBINED Total of the number of deleted messages in EACH of the individual Trash Folders at ALL times. The User should not be required to select the Unified Folder or Shutdown/Restart T'bird in order for the Total to be corrected.
Restart of T'bird FAILS to Clear Unified Folder Count. Individual Folder counts ARE successfully cleared on Restart. Only way to Clear (and correct) Unified Folder count is to SELECT the Unified Folder.

Hi reporter. Are you using an IMAP or a POP mail server?
Flags: needinfo?(tb.nojunk)
In this particular case I'm running using the POP server. I haven't tried it via the IMAP servers.

I have several screencaps showing the problem at different points in use but am unable to locate any way to include them in my post. If you want/need to see them post back here and tell me how to send them to you.
Found the Attachments button. See three screencaps attached above.

I think this could be caused by code not specific for any particular platform, as it seems is both affecting Windows and OS X.
So, I am just marking this one as depending on the older one, instead of DUPEing.
However, I have not tried to reproduce it, so keeping it as UNCONFIRMED.
Thank you for the screenshoots, reporter.
