We don't need another meta bug. Bug 304064 already covers this and it's actually pretty useless.

Bug 304064 is about adding more features to the votes page, i.e. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/page.cgi?id=voting/user.html.
This bug is about improving the UX of the voting feature in general. So it was intended as meta-bug for 304064 and others.

I know, but unless we are implementing a complex new feature which requires specific steps, meta bugs have rarely proven to be useful:
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/buglist.cgi?j_top=OR&f1=keywords&o1=equals&resolution=INVALID&resolution=WORKSFORME&o2=substring&query_format=advanced&f2=short_desc&v1=meta&v2=meta&product=Bugzilla
Specific bugs are much more useful. Feel free to report them if you have an idea.
If the goal is to keep track of them for your own usage, then you should create a saved search (I have many such saved searches myself).

I could surely find much more meta-bugs people use to track progress on something. E.g. see bug 580070, bug 1003439, bug 33339, or bug 802882. The usefulness of meta-bugs depends on their purpose.
This is also true for things like the voting feature. AFAIK almost no team at Mozilla considers votes on bugs for their decisions. Non-the-less people say it can be a useful feature.[1] I claim one reason why voting in Bugzilla is not used much is that its UX is very poor at the moment.

Most of the specific bugs are already added as blockers to this one. The most important in my eyes is bug 69754.

Of course saved searches can be used instead of meta-bugs and I also have several saved searches. Though the UX of meta-bugs is different. E.g. they allow you to see the dependency tree or graph. And having many saved searches rather confuses due to their unsorted display at the bottom of a page.
So there are pros and cons for both, though if you believe the voting UX doesn't need a meta-bug, and it looks like you're one of the people behind Bugzilla, it's totally fine for me.

with regards to BMO specifically - as per https://groups.google.com/d/msg/mozilla.dev.platform/uUQxA2_xjN4/bEEnWtz3NuMJ we'll be removing the voting system completely.

Thanks for the hint. I forgot about the outcome of that thread.
Do you know what will happen with the existing votes once the voting system is removed? Will people that voted for a bug be added as CC instead? I'd be pretty sad if that were not the case and I'd lose track of the bugs I voted for.

Don't take me wrong: I think there is no need for a meta bug in this case, but I totally agree with you that the voting UX should be improved. So feel free to work on these bugs. :)
