Details
Bug 1227593 moved the Sync Engine to /shared in a way that new synchronizers (like the Passwords Manager one) can use this code. However, we still need to modify the Sync Manager to be able to open and orchestrate the different synchronizers. We also need a better way to register synchronizers than hard-coding their configuration on common-settings.json.

Given the strategy changes for FxOS I don't think we will be spending any time on this kind of refactors.
