Crash Data

This bug was filed from the Socorro interface and is
report bp-17f15d85-4d9d-4c7d-a1c8-ae42a2160202.
=============================================================

We fixed one cause of this in bug 1142944, but I am still seeing reports in 45.0b2, so I guess there's something else still going on.

Is anyone on this? This is a pretty serious issue...

Here's an adb log I managed to get.
I used "adb.exe logcat -c", right after going tapping a link to http://i.imgur.com/AwbV1Yj.gifv then adb.exe logcat -d > log.txt right after the crash.

TOP1 crash on Fennic 44 and makes it unusable.
Any ideas?

I landed a possible fix in bug 1247399. We'll see if it helps, but it's probably worth uplifting everywhere anyway.

Note that this does not fix any crash, it only (hopefully) fixes the reporting of the crash. It's entirely likely the crash itself is OOM, which we are addressing in several other bugs.

Hi Snorp, this is showing up at top 6th spot on 47.0a2. Are the newer crash reports providing more info to better root cause this issue?

It fixed some things for sure, but we still seem to have some busted crash reports. We don't know why right now.

Tracking plus for now. This should be renominated if there is new data about a set of crashes that fall into this case.
Crash volume for signature 'EMPTY: no crashing thread identified; ERROR_NO_MINIDUMP_HEADER':
  - nightly (50): 430
  - aurora (49): 696
  - beta (48): 11468
  - esr (45): 4799
This is a bug for the Android crashes which may have different causes than desktop. I don't want to morph this into a generic bug.

Firefox for Android does not ship ESR. This signature is not a one bug fix. It can occur for a variety of reasons one of the most common and unaddressable is the device that Firefox is running on is out of memory.
If you need to set something so this bug is not on a query, dashboard or something similar use wontfix.
Sorry for the noise, currently I'm making a tool to update the status flags.

I cloned this bug as Bug 1360392 to track the issues related to the desktop version of firefox (not android) for this crash signature.

Dropping priority from P2 to P3 because this bug is not currently actionable for the Android engineering team. We're waiting for the new ARM minidump writer in bug 1689358.
