User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.11; rv:44.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/44.0 Build ID: 20160210153822 Steps to reproduce: Environment is MacBook Pro, El Capitan, 10.11.3, Thunderbird 38.6.0. Layout is Classic View. I select multiple, non-contiguous messages in the Subject pane, by command-clicking. Then drag the selection to a folder in the left mailbox pane. Actual results: There is no visual feedback. Expected results: A visual element should appear that indicates these messages are indeed being moved to a folder. This lack of visual feedback is illustrated in the top half of the example image. Dragging multiple, *contiguously selected* messages to a folder *does* display this visual feedback. This is illustrated in the lower half of the example image. Please note that the action does indeed work in both cases. The messages are moved to the selected folder (when releasing the click on the touchpad). The issue is the visual feedback in one case but not the other.
Eckard are you using el cap?

I can confirm this also on Win 10. But I think this isn't a theme issue but a tree problem.

I was able to reproduce this in 10.9.x as well as now in 10.11.4. The Thunderbird version I tested with is 45.0 Changing the platform to Mac OS only as Magnus and Wayne were not able to reproduce this in Linux / Windows; see comments #1 and #4 of 1265206.

Sorry, reverting the platform change. Saw Richard's comment just now.

Just a reminder that there is also this Mac issue Bug 933302 - nsDragService::ConstructDragImage doesn't always work properly in @2x mode (Retina Drag Drop)
I do no longer see this issue in Daily 53.0a1. So the bug has been solved in the meantime?
hopefully Albert and kenengel will agree. They can get the nightly from https://archive.mozilla.org/pub/thunderbird/nightly/latest-comm-central/ (In reply to Eckard Berberich from comment #8) > I do no longer see this issue in Daily 53.0a1. > So the bug has been solved in the meantime? unknown

I am using TB 50b and wasn't able to find a source with the release dates for upcoming beta versions to be able to check when I can test this without having to change my current TB version. In the meantime I will keep the ni?.
53 won't become beta for several months. see https://wiki.mozilla.org/RapidRelease/Calendar but you can just install the nightly to test, then reinstall beta
done. works perfectly fine in 53.
