From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:0.9.4) Gecko/20011128 Netscape6/6.2.1 BuildID: 20011128 I'd like to have a possibility to browse names, adresses etc. in LDAP directories like it is in Netscape 4.xx. Possibility to change ldap data through Mozilla would be nice too. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Open Task/Address Book 2.LDAP directories do not show with data 3.
-> browser general - can someone find the default component for LDAP? I don't think its networking b/c I'd have more bugs on it.

Searched for a dupe, but did not find it. Changed summary to help it show up on searches more easily.

This bug report is from 2002, and yet Thunderdbird 1.5.0.7 doesn't let the user browse the ldap addressbook. This is such an obvious wish!
I support this as well.

Outlook has this feature and fixing this bug should help to bring more corporate users to Thunderbird. Contact Sidebar extension (http://jpeters.no-ip.com/extensions/index.php?page=tb_cs) has option to "Automatically populate LDAP address books" but we shouldn't rely on extension as such "obvious" feature ought to be built-in.
