Go to the above site and click on any video. I have the Windows Media player
installed and it works perfectly from IE. When I click on a video Mozilla does
not allow me to click on any other link on that page. I can get our by clicking
the back button.
I have added Windows Media player as a helper application.
Extension asf, asx
MIME type video/x-ms-asf
This does not work in Netscape 6.2.1 as well as in build 2002031903 or any other
build that I've tried.

Reporter, please have a look at bug 119045. I'm not sure whether you're
following the same steps to register the plug-in, or whether you're only trying
to use WMP as an external helper app. If the former this bug is probably a dupe.
there seems to be several issues here.
Plugins overruling helper apps is known, see bug 19118.
Testing playing a video from the page on XP, 2002040803, i see that WMP loads as
helper. (I don't sen addition, the browser window it's spawned from loads a
"dead" page that goes numb: in urlbar the location of the plugin file is displayed.
Hitting back-button takes me back to the originating page (which moz should
probably never have left in the first place..)
Then closed WMP, clicked another movie: WMP started as helper again, and this
time the main window *seemed* to remain, but was "frozen" and stopped refreshing.
Again hittiong back-button brougt browser window alive with the "real" version
of the URL.
I don't know what i meant by "I don't sen addition".
But forgot to mention that WMP plays fine.
