Be consequent. "My Bugs" is displayed in "Preset Queries" list, but in fact it's
not treated as such, so you can't modify it, just hide it using prefs. By
changing it into a standard named query (like the ones created using the
"Remember this query, and name it:" on query page) only created upon account
creation. In this way all the bugs like "'My bugs' won't display 'unassigned'"
become invalid/enhancement, because any user can customise "their bugs" to their
needs freely.

Oooh, oooh, I like this idea. :-) Put it the default "my bugs" query into the
account creation stuff so it automatically creates a "saved query" by that name
when you sign up, then let you edit/delete it like any other saved query.

Another benefit of this is "My Bugs" will then be displayed on the resulting bug
list.
As an alternative to adding a stored query for every user, LookupNamedQuery
could return the default query for "My Bugs" if the user does not have a stored
query by that name.

The User Interface component now belongs to Gerv. Reassigning all UNCONFIRMED
and NEW (but not ASSIGNED) bugs currently owned by Myk (the previous component
owner) to Gerv.

Reassigning back to Myk. That stuff about Gerv taking over the User Interface
component turned out to be short-lived. Please pardon our confusion, and I'm
very sorry about the spam.

Timeless posted a patch on bug 177337 that hides the real "My Bugs" from the
footer if someone tries to save a query by that name... not sure if that'd be a
real solution to this, but it's probably worth discussion...

[Mon 23:45:36] <timeless> there's a con to that
[Mon 23:46:02] <timeless> because my bugs is magical, if the site decides to
update, the users get the updated magic
[Mon 23:46:19] <timeless> if it's a preset then if the site updates then the
user doesn't get the new magic
[Mon 23:47:19] <justdave> hmmm... guess that's true...
[Mon 23:47:42] <justdave> but the user still won't get the updated magic your
way because they lose the magic one from the footer if they save one with that name.
[Mon 23:47:56] <timeless> that said. i don't care. but my patch is sitting
there, and you're welcome to take it or reave it
[Mon 23:48:10] <timeless> personally i'd suggest changing the name of the query
and taking my patch
[Mon 23:49:12] <timeless> sure, but that's a rare case, and if the user wants
the magic one back, the user can turn iton in prefs
[Mon 23:49:32] * nb likes being able to replace the My Bugs
[Mon 23:49:40] <nb> i like having it show me bugs im cc'ed on too
[Mon 23:49:42] <nb> or actually not replace
[Mon 23:49:48] <nb> but save one with the same name, and then turn off the auto one
[Mon 23:50:38] <timeless> the code doesn't permanently suppress the magic query,
it just suppresses it each time the user makes a personalquery by that name, so
if the user actually wants to turn it back on, the user can

Enhancements which don't currently have patches on them which are targetted at
2.18 are being retargetted to 2.20 because we're about to freeze for 2.18.
Consideration will be taken for moving items back to 2.18 on a case-by-case
basis (but is unlikely for enhancements)

Bugzilla 2.20 feature set is now frozen as of 15 Sept 2004. Anything flagged
enhancement that hasn't already landed is being pushed out. If this bug is
otherwise ready to land, we'll handle it on a case-by-case basis, please set the
blocking2.20 flag to '?' if you think it qualifies.

I'd love to see this too, as I want slightly different defaults for what I see in "My Bugs" and I also like a particular sorting order for the columns.
What sort of magic would happen at an upgrade that might be missed? Could this be flagged somehow or perhaps find a way to show the difference between two saved queries?

Another plus of "my bugs" (or being able to search for bugs involving "me" in various ways) is that I can change my e-mail address (to throw off spammers) and the searches will still work. (Or do I not understand what this one is about? :/ )
