Steps to reproduce:

I upgraded to latest level of thunderbird. I made no changes to password or ports. I can log into yahoo.com and Verizon.net with my Heynorton@verizon.net directly. I can log into Heynorton@verizon.net with Microsoft mail! Please help I'm on version 45.7.1...I cannot get or send e-mails....

Actual results:

I get message of "sending of password for user Heynorton did not succeed mail server incoming.yahoo.verizon.net responded.

Expected results:

I should (as I have for over 10 years) log into my e-mail (Verizon) using Thunderbird.
Summary: sending of password for user did not succeed mail server incoming.yahoo.verizon.net responded. But, I can log into yahoo and verizon with my account. I am on 45.7.1 → sending correct password for user did not succeed mail server incoming.yahoo.verizon.net responded.
More problems with Yahoo and TB 45.7.1, see more here: bug 1337445 and bug 1334973. In fact, the latter one complains about an incomplete error message just like in the picture here (attachment 8836303 [details]).

same issue with Thunderbird 60b6 on Windows

Used copy and paste from notepad to verify the username and password were correct and the exact same username and password that was used to successfully log into yahoo's web mail. Use less secure apps is enabled.
This is a bit on an emergency. Would you guys mind jumping on it? Let me know if you need any data collected or other troubleshooting.
Your steps are unclear, but there is a cache bug in passwords which s helped by restart. You might also try https://archive.mozilla.org/pub/thunderbird/nightly/latest-comm-central/thunderbird-62.0a1.en-US.win32.installer.exe which has a patch. Let us know your results

Hi Wayne,

That fixed it. Thank you!!!

Follow up question: will this alpha release roll over to the general release when it is published? Or, do I need to tdo it manually?
