Various places of the Firefox user interface offer opening about:preferences to show options for a specific feature. Once bug 1335905 lands, we will be able to run a search to show the specific parts of the preferences.
The URI could look like: about:preferences?q=queryterms
where queryterms is the search phrase.

Instead of a general approach that relies on the search behavior, we're going with a simpler approach that will only be extended on needs basis. We also don't want to tie enabling search (bug 1353954) to the preferences reorg.
