User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.11; rv:49.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/49.0 SeaMonkey/2.46
Build ID: 20161213201111

Steps to reproduce:

Installed Apple Security Update 2017-003.

Actual results:

SeaMonkey asks to use Contacts (Apple), and will crash opening emails henceforth if you click ‘Yes.’ Will work fine if you click ‘No.’

Expected results:

Should not crash using Mail after Security update from Apple. (Only way to get Mail working again is to reinstall user Profile and then click ‘No’ when asks to use Contacts [Apple]).
Same problem on another account and computer using SeaMonkey/2.48 and Mac OS X 10.11.6.
I am currently doing a 2.49.1 test build. Would you be willing to try it? Should be fixed there.

One work-around for now would be to not allow SeaMonkey to access MacOS contacts (system preference, security).
Yes, I will try. How do I download? (My first time in Bugzilla.)
I will shoot you an email. Need to check it out first myself. Currently building.
JP I sent you an email.
Have installed 2.49.1 test build. SeaMonkey is stable after install, and now no longer crashes when affirming SeaMonkey to use Apple contacts. Good job! Will update if any problems show up. Is there anything else I should be looking for?

If you notice something not working right please send me an email. Overall it should be very stable but it would be the first version where we won't also get the odd new bug in :)

Message pane has changed as per bug 1095904.

I will leave this bug open until we know for sure that it is fixed in the official build. Might be different with a universal build or when linking against an older sdk as the one on the official SeaMonkey build servers.

Thanks for testing.
This has been fixed in 2.49.1 by using several backported bugs together with Thunderbird 52.

Automatic updates will likely not work. Please download the full release from the project page.

If you want to know the details please visit the 2.49 release bug 1346939.

If you still encounter a crash please open a new bug.
