Could you please check if this has this worked in even older versions of Firefox / when it regressed (if this is a regression)?

Hi,

I've tested this using Firefox Nightly version 75.0a1 (2020-02-12) (64-bit), Beta 74.0b2 (64-bit) and Release 73.0 (64-bit) for windows 10 pro and I’m also able to reproduce the issue. Based on this I will mark each respective flag as affected.

Best,
Clara

Still happening with Firefox 81 on Windows 10, in compatibility mode or not.
Even when I apply all the userChrome fixes I was able to find, the best thing I could get is a quicker white flash.
This really messes with my eyes at night.

Hani, do you know if this is still an issue or whether we can close this?

I can reproduce this issue on Nightly 140.0a1(05-05-2025), but this time, black flash happens when you are trying to open multiple new tabs. Please see the screen recording.
Preconditions:
Open Firefox and go to Settings -> Contrast Control, select "Custom", and click on the "Manage Colors" button -> set "Green" color for Text and "Black" color for Background.

Okay, this seems like slightly a different issue, and not really a bug to be honest. It looks like you're opening new tab pages fast enough for it not to be preloaded yet, so you see the default background for a bit. The default background matches the new tab background though, and I believe this bug was about the backgrounds not matching.

Thanks for testing!
