Current specific search engine "МетаМаркет" is not so popular in Ukraine as before. https://metamarket.ua/ua/search/?q=jkl&m=market&sourceid=Mozilla-search It would be better to replace "МетаМаркет" with one of the most trusted, powerful and widely used Ukrainian price aggregator - "Hotline". https://hotline.ua/

The change is doable, but we need to: a) Contact the provider to see if they're interested, and get some information: * Legal Name of Provider's Search Service * Address * Address * Address * Signatory's Name and Title * Provider's Contact Person for Implementation: - Name - email address - phone number b) Once we have that, we need to get them to sign an agreement to ship in Firefox (see bug 1430075 for an example). Can you help with the first part?

We have just received an agreement from the new provider for e-commerce search. Here I provide the requested information: * Legal Name of Provider's Search Service: Private limited company "HOTLINE" * Address: 04116 * Address: 10G Starokyivska street * Address: Kyiv, Ukraine * Signatory's Name and Title: Serhii Arabadji, CEO * Provider's Contact Person for Implementation: - Name: Olena Golubieva - email address: golubeva@hotline.ua - phone number: +380678141817 As we discussed with Francesco, we need also to set this search provider in Firefox for Android and iOS by replacing the current Yandex Market.

@Joanne The Ukrainian team would like to add https://hotline.ua to desktop (replacing https://metamarket.ua), and on mobile to replace Yandex Market (https://m.market.yandex.ua). Regarding Fennec: we recently removed Yandex from desktop, since it's not reachable from Ukrainian. The same is applicable for Yandex Market. Hopefully the information provided in comment 3 is enough.

Hi, I have drafted the agreement and am just waiting for Legal approval and signature. As soon as I have it back, I'll update the bug and attached the file so you can have Hotline.ua execute it. Thanks, Joanne

Artem, I need the full agreement scanned, not just the signature page. Could you reattach the whole thing so I can send to legal? Thanks! Joanne

Sorry, this is how I received it from the provider. Now I resend you the whole digital document with a signature. Thanks!

@Artem Can you give the two searchplugins a test? https://l10n.mozilla-community.org/~flod/testsp/ The final name will be just "Hotline", now I've added DESKTOP and MOBILE to let you install both of them. Also: on desktop we need a description, I copied what they use on the title: сравнить цены в интернет-магазинах Украины Does it make sense?

Francesco, the test on my side was successful :) Here is the proper Ukrainian description as it shown on the website's tab: "Hotline - порівняти ціни в інтернет-магазинах України". Please use this description instead. Thank you!

Which Firefox version are you targeting for this?

(In reply to Mike Kaply [:mkaply] from comment #15) > Which Firefox version are you targeting for this? Since Yandex is not working (mobile), I think it would be nice to ride the trains to Beta with 61. If that's an issue, it can also wait for 62.

Comment on attachment 8972513 [details] Bug 1453308 - [uk] Use hotline.ua as e-commerce plugin for Firefox desktop and Firefox for Android https://reviewboard.mozilla.org/r/241104/#review249320 This patch is fine. Keep in mind that even after checkin, it might not work properly because it requires a server side change.

The latest update still has Yandex Market...
Please reach out to Delphine for that, the update is not automatic anymore apparently.

I think mkaply can help with this (this update is also needed because of Bug1521687)

Even if it's not going to be used, I think there would be value in updating the script that took searchplugins from tree. Writing it from scratch would be even faster, since searchplugins are not centralized (that script still looks for aurora and ~100 l10n repos for XML files).

I'm going to update the script and do a new pass of plugins in Firefox iOS

Please don't reopen bugs assigned to other people ;-)
Updating iOS it's a different bug, and tracked elsewhere.
