Very specific prob, please address even though its not a purely Mozilla /
Netscape prob - its a compatibility with other software problem.
When using Netsonic or Netsonic Pro, a popular internet cache program that
speeds up Internet Explorer and earlier Netscape (even Netscape 6.0) greatly,
Mozilla and Netscape 6.2 will not load ANY pages. Only if Netsonic is 100%
disabled does any page load. problem is easily reproducable if one has Netsonic
(I am using Netsonic Pro 3.0 but the previous version also failed to work with
Netscape 6.2). What is odd is all earlier Mozilla builds I have tried before any
of the 1.0s worked fine with Netsonic. And Netscape 6.0 worked with it. It is
some change in the more recent builds of both that creates the incompatibility.
Tried to get Netsonic's help - no go "Netscape is no longer supported." Any help
appreciated.
Since it's a web cache, try turning HTTP to 1.0 in
Edit/Preferences/Advances/HTTP Networking?
Did try that David P., No go. Same using HTTP 1.0 and restarting/retrying.
Thanks though, good idea.

Summary: Mozilla 1.0 RC3 and Netscape 6.2 (but NOT 6.0) prob not 6.1 either → cannot access any site with Netsonic or Netsonic Pro [M1RC3, N62 (but NOT N60) prob not N61 either]
can you try disabling keep-alives from the HTTP Networking preferences panel?

if that still shows the problem then can you please either capture network
traffic or enable some mozilla logging environment variables:

  NSPR_LOG_MODULES=nsHttp:5
  NSPR_LOG_FILE=c:\http.log

then please upload http.log to this bug report. thx!!
Don't see a switch for keep alives in networking prefs, but did try disabling
persistent items as well as switching to HTTP 1.0 both one at time or in combo,
no go. I am not on a network per se. just dial-up, so will admit my ignorance I
don't know how to capture network traffic or if that applies to me.

I can confirm this bug. I tried turning off Keep Alive, Pipelining, and HTTP
1.1. Still, Mozilla does not work with NetSonic enabled. I am trying this with
the 20020622 Nighly.
There is a freeware (spyware) version of Netsonic available, if anybody else
would like to duplicate this problem.
Thanks Nighly/Hyeh, I am glad to see ppl are still working on this one. It
really puzzles me, since in both earlier versions of Netscape 6 (before 6.1,
and 6.2) and earlier versions of Mozilla, it worked fine with Netsonic (or in
my case Netsonic Pro), but now it won't work at all with it enabled. The bug
has to lie in some change made to the more recent Mozilla releases.

Is this still a problem with 1.1 or later?

Setting new by many dupes, though.

NetSonic seems to work great with the 2003022308 windows trunk build. I'm using
it right now to submit this comment. I seem to have version 3 of NetSonic. I'm
not sure if NetSonic was improved or Mozilla was improved, but for whatever
reason this bug seems to be fixed.
