My lightning isn't getting loaded properly at times. After lightning started working again in July, I never saw it working until August. Then all the sudden it worked again without problems for a few days. Now it doesn't again.

Lightning shows enabled in the Add-ons manager but none of the functionality is working, and no buttons or menus are showing. 

I get this in the console:

BTW, trying to click open ext-legacy.js I get TypeError: this.gViewSourceUtils is undefined --- I thought this was fixed?

Started thunderbird with --purgecaches now and that apparently caused a timing difference that causes it to work at least this time.

Hmm, I'm clicking on 
  Error: DebuggerServer.registerModule requires an options argument main.js:214:13 
and others, and the JS source opens. Anything special about ext-legacy.js?

Fixed by bug 1477956.
