Bug 1405008 introduced a warning that is shown when connecting to a remote device using a version more recent than firefox one, or a version older than the official older release we support. But given that we don't test manually, nor automatically our tools against any previous version, we may print a warning message anytime we connect to a remote that is using a version different from the one being used in the frontend/WebIDE.
I opened bug 1492460 to start displaying the same warning message in the new about:debugging. It should then be straightforward to add such new warning in about:debugging. We may want to introduce this new warning in both WebIDE and new about:debugging, until we deprecate/remove WebIDE.
