Details

Just below this reporting field, I see <<We've made a guess at your operating
system and platform. Please check them and, if we got it wrong, email
endico@mozilla.org.>>

I understand that for reporting mozilla bugs, it is important to provide the
build-ID. Therefore two suggestions:

1) for Mozilla application related bug report forms, add a field with the build
ID - I currently see many bug-reporters just put it into this free-text field
like me here.
2) Since it is possible to guess my OS and platform correctly, why couldn't
bugzilla then even guess the Build ID correctly as well?
Since you think of the build ID as so important that it shows in every Mozilla
window on top in the blue title bar, I guess it could also be made a part of the
HTTP request headers (if my recollection is correct that client-side environment
variables could be purported there)?

What do you think about this?

Strongly agree. The BuildID extracted from the Browser-Type header should be at
least put in the "comment" field, but we shouldn't just lose it. Will reduce a
number of those who don't put a buid ID in.

Also, please take a look at Bug 99897.

Dupe of 150351; the new bugzilla helper will apparently do this.
