From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.0.0) Gecko/20020605 BuildID: 2002060511 child windows and do not inherit zoom from parents Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.go to http://lik-sang.com/catalog/default.php 2.fonts are specifed as 8pt and 9pt in the CSS, so i have to zoom to 120% to be able to read it, or 150% if i am using a big resolution 3.right click open one of the links in a new tab or new window Actual Results: See that the zoom is back to 100%, and not possible to read again Expected Results: new tabs and new windows opend via links from one page should inherit from the parent window on the same site. It could be set so that zoom remained even if the link was external, but as only a few sites have this problem and it is mostly down to windows/ie CSS files i think it is better to only keep the zoom for the same site.
afaik this is thought as a feature.

I'm going to confirm this. If you just follow a link while a page is zoomed, the zoom is retained. But when a link is opened in a new window or tab, the new page reverts to 100%. I found a few other bugs on the same topic, e.g. bug 110951, which have been closed as dupes of bug 65571. However, bug 65571 is really about different aspects of the text zoom feature. It's clear from several comments in that bug (#52, #64, #71, #72, #80, #84) that the these child windows should inherit zoom. I tend to agree with comment #84 that it's not reasonable to handle reports about this issue as duplicates of bug 65571. That said, the reporter might find that a more practical solution to his problem is to go into Edit->Preferences->Appearance->Fonts and set the minimum font size so that font sizes too small for his screen are overridden.
