Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:65.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/65.0

Steps to reproduce:

UP THROUGH 60.5.1, third-party-generated e-mails from Dazzle (a mailing program, these are "your mail is coming and here's the tracking number" messages) popped the generated message up in an editing window.

DID NOT change the third-party program.

Upgraded to 60.5.2. DID NOT change any settings or any extensions.

Actual results:

Messages are now automatically sent with no opportunity to review or edit.

Expected results:

Messages should have popped the generated message up in an editing window.

Further experiments with changing the settings in SendLater had no effect at all, specifically including changing SendLater to require putting all messages in an outbox.

POSSIBLE SIDE ISSUE: This is a MAPI/Gmail-on-custom-domain account. It is theoretically possible that at the same time Thunderbird was upgraded to 60.5.2 from 60.5.1, Google did something at its end with the MAPI interface.

This bug creates serious potential privacy and functionality problems, and may be related to the "unresolved" MAPI interface problem noted in the 60.5.2 release notes... which DO NOT seem to be related to this issue (and if this issue is related, the release notes need to make that clear).

This has been resolved. See bug 1530820 comment #30.
