The beat goes on. We just landed Bug 1515248 to use Android-Gradle 3.2.1, but we're still well behind the curve. Next hurdle is 3.3+ (or straight to 3.4+, if it's ready). I expect this one to be much larger because the plugin itself was significantly reworked to use on-demand configuration from the ground up, and we probably monkey with enough stuff that we run afoul of something.

This might depend on bumping the Gradle version, which probably requires Bug 1478398.

I will try to give this a quick evaluation pass and see how hard it really looks. It might be necessary to defer this until after we remove Fennec from the tree, although I don't want to gate anything on Fennec removal.
