Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.3; Win64; x64; rv:69.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/69.0

Steps to reproduce:

Updated to version 68.1.1 released on 27 Aug 2019. The update copied all the account settings for each email account correctly. Each email account's server settings are ticked for check new messages on startup.

Actual results:

On startup, Thunderbird does not check for new messages. Tried unchecking the box, closing Thunderbird, then reloading it and re-checking the box, closing it and re-loading it, but still not checking for new messages on startup. Have to click on the Get Messages icon to get Thunderbird to check for new messages. Does automatically check for new messages every 10 mins thereafter, as per the server settings.

Expected results:

Should automatically check on startup for any new messages as per appropriate the server setting

Yes, we know the issue. It will work if you create a new profile. We haven't yet worked out that the issue is with existing profiles for some users.

Which version did you use prior to your update to 68.1.1, did you use an earlier 68.x version, or did you update from 60.x?

Do you see failures in the error console similar to the following?

NS_ERROR_FAILURE: Couldn't decrypt string ---> crypto-SDR.js:203

Are the failing accounts POP or IMAP ?

Are the failing accounts POP or IMAP ?

The reporter apparently immediately disabled their account
