We can overlap less space on the toolbar by reducing the size of the Megabar's horizontal padding. 30px padding doesn't require major changes to the design. It still allows for 4px of space between a result's bookmarks icon and the edge of the result highlight.

I can confirm the horizontal padding has been reduced. I verified using Fx 74.0a1(2020-02-04) on Windows 10 x64, Ubuntu 18.04 and macOS 10.15.
Updating the flags accordingly.
