I'm not sure if this used to be the case in older versions / nightly builds of Chimera, but it would make things more convenient if, when a new tab is opened with Command-T, the cursor is automatically put in the URL bar, so that to enter an address you just start typing. As it is you have to click there when you open a new tab, which is slightly annoying.

Sorry for the spam; forgot my comment. I would also appreciate this change and have read that several people on the e-mail list do as well.
Focus should be given to the URL in new, blank tabs only. Tabs that load a URL other than [about:blank] give focus to the content pane. If you're reporting that new, blank tabs don't focus the URL Bar, then this is a dup of bug 162001.

Yes, tabs that load content show focus on content window - see bug 159814. Duping this one since it has to do with new tabs. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 162001 ***
