Overview Description:
Under IMAP, large jpg/gif graphic attachment do not fully rendered when viewed
in Messenger. Smaller attachment are render completely. The file size of my
jpeg file is only 75k. I will attach a sample file.
This does not appear to be a browser problem because I can open my original
jpeg and gif file in a browser window.
Steps to Reproduce:
0) Removed my existing mozilla registry and user profile
1) Double click on icon entitled 'mozilla messenger'
(migration is broken today - see bug 16305)
2) Enter a profile name or choose the default and click on the Finish button
Messenger should open and the mail wizard appears
3) Follow the mail wizard and fill in the information requested
Messenger should open
4) From Communicator 4.7 RTM, send a mail message with a large jpeg or gif image
(>75k) to your test account
5) From seamonkey, open you inbox and login mail
6) Retrieve you message if it has not appeared
7) Select the message you sent Communicator 4.7
Notice that the image has not completely rendered
Actual Results:
The image is only partially rendered at thetop. The rest of the image is
blacken.
Expected Results:
The image should completely render.
Additional Builds and Platforms Tested On:
This problem occurs on all platforms.
Additional Information:
Resizing the window or trying to reload the mail message does not help.
Under POP, there is a separate problem of not downloading the message > than a
certain size. I will log a separate bug.

Summary: IIMAP -Large jpg/gif attachment do not fully render → IIMAP -Large jpg/gif attachment do not fully render
fyi,
This problem does not appear to occur with text attachment.
Changing qa assigned to myself.
Observation,
I believe that only 32K of the image is being displayed. In bug 16368, when I
save a image that only partially rendered, the file saved is only 32k. If I
drag the saved jpeg or gif image to a browser window of communicator 4.7,
displays the same amount that seamonkey did.

Peter, I believe this was fixed with the change I made to fix Bug #16538. So I'm
going to mark this as fixed. If there's still a problem this may also need the
fix I just checked in for Bug #16814 which won't be available until the 10/21
builds.
Verified on Win32 and Linux under IMAP using the following builds:
ftp://sweetlou/products/client/seamonkey/windows/32bit/x86/1999-11-01-09-M11/seamonkey32e.exe
ftp://sweetlou/products/client/seamonkey/unix/linux_glibc/2.2/x86/1999-11-01-08-M11/netscape-i686-pc-linux-gnu.tar.gz
However, the MacOS failed under IMAP. None of the image displayed. I waited
over 15 minutes.
I will log a separate bug for Mac since win32 and linux are working.
Update,
Now under IMAP, the inline images display ok. I verifying this bug as fixed
using the following build.
ftp://sweetlou/products/client/seamonkey/macos/8.x/ppc/1999-11-08-08-M11/netscap
