While checking the GNOME web browser called Galeon, I found that it has an
excellent ui for the "Find/Search" mechanism.
As seen in the screenshot, you search by pressing either the [< Prev] or the
[Next >] button. Thus, you can choose direction in a very easy and intuitive way.
It also makes it easy to "back", if you need to recheck something that you
recently saw.
So, what I'm saying is... this should be a Mozilla feature also! =)

I think bug 162204 has a more complete proposal.

I agree. I think a "find next" and a "find previous" button makes more sense
than a "find" button and a "search backwards" checkbox. I also suggested this in
bug 7930 comment 30.

Implements "Find next" and "Find previous" buttons. Also fixes bug bug 133505.

Patch V1.1
I won't review this because I don't like the proposed change. I like the
standard Windows dialog, with the up/down direction radio buttons.

Neil, either review this patch or just mark this bug WONTFIX if you like Dean
don't like the idea.

Dean: What do you like about using radio buttons for direction? They're never
more efficient than buttons and they're slightly confusing, so I don't see what
there is to like about them.

MASS-CHANGE:
This bug report is registered in the SeaMonkey product, but has been without a comment since the inception of the SeaMonkey project. This means that it was logged against the old Mozilla suite and we cannot determine that it's still valid for the current SeaMonkey suite. Because of this, we are setting it to an UNCONFIRMED state.
If you can confirm that this report still applies to current SeaMonkey 2.x nightly builds, please set it back to the NEW state along with a comment on how you reproduced it on what Build ID, or if it's an enhancement request, why it's still worth implementing and in what way.
If you can confirm that the report doesn't apply to current SeaMonkey 2.x nightly builds, please set it to the appropriate RESOLVED state (WORKSFORME, INVALID, WONTFIX, or similar).
If no action happens within the next few months, we move this bug report to an EXPIRED state.

Patch V1.1
The XPFE find dialog is dead, so this request is bogus.

Not sure how much value this still has for SeaMonkey 2.x, we're using toolkit
code for find now.
