It should not only be possible to export to a file, but to a printer, in a
user-chosen format. I find that in practice what works is to create my task list
with a word processor, and print my tasks in a 3-column format, on opposite
sides of a single sheet of paper (although sometimes I need more than one
sheet). This is because I need to carry my tasklist with me and hand-edit it
quickly in situations in which it would be too awkward to use a PDA. The trick
is to not spend so much time managing my task list that I get less tasks done.
The Moz calendar could be useful, especially since it is integrated with the
mail function, but I need those printouts.

I also need to be able to organize tasks into sub-tasks, sub-sub-tasks, etc.,
and to set task sequences and triggers of the form

start-after-finish
finish-before-start
... and other combinations, like those used in a project management package.

I completely agree.  I would like to make it so you can Mail a task or task list
to someone as you can with events, so that I could make a todo list for my son
and email it to him, and it would automatically go into his task list (him also
having the calender in thunderbird/firefox)

No, it is (or was) a valid bug.  It is now possible to export VTODO's with the rest of the calendar.  I think there are bugs for printing of VTODO's, and emailing VTODO's has to do with the complete iMIP/iTIP support.  Since those issues are being tracked elsewhere, I'm going to mark this as WFM.
