User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/84.0.4147.135 Safari/537.36
Steps to reproduce:
- Start Thunderbird
- Select any mail
Actual results:
The mail content is displayed in the lower pane.
Above the lower pane, there is a mail toolbar, which contains some buttons (see attached screenshot).
In versions prior to version 78, it was possible to remove buttons which are not needed by an individual user. For example, I never use the button "Junk" or "Delete", so I was able to adjust the toolbar in a way that the button was removed. I did this by right-clicking the toolbar and clicking "adjust" in the appearing context menu.
Expected results:
With Thunderbird 78, it is not possible anymore to remove unwanted buttons. When I execute a right mouse click on the mail toolbar, nothing happens. No context menu appears anymore.

See in Release notes in known issues:
https://www.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/78.1.1/releasenotes/
In my opinion its a pitty, that this issue is still unresolved not only in 78.0, but in 78.2.0 RC too

The discussion to reimplement the ability to customize the mail header toolbar is in Bug 1556261.
Maybe we could improve the regression message in Release notes to be more clear, that this is not only a "regression", but a complete new discussion how to reimplement this feature.

The requested change did not happen in the bug to which this was duped.
But this is planned in bug 1773314
