Before bug 1650041, importing an address book made the UI change to the new directory (and fail to display the imported contacts, but that's another matter). This doesn't happen any more, but it should, if the import was started from the address book UI.

In my testing of the TB 81.0b3 release candidate on Ubuntu 18.04 LTS, the address book was imported, the address book directory was selected, then being an .ldif file that was imported Thunderbird restarted.
I'm suspecting it was converting the imported address file into a .sqlite file. Is that correct?
I also see the restart when importing into 78 rc tests.

This is a complete surprise to me. Restarting was added by bug 272292 and is not necessary when just importing an address book. I'm going to file a regression bug.
