Do you find a match in https://mzl.la/2ZyjNfo ? (in which your bug is listed)
Hello Wayne,
Thank you for the reply. I am sorry, but very new to posting to Bugzilla. It was recommended to me to post it here, but I am not sure how to follow. I do see some others, but it looks like the auto filter is possibly running.
Thank you JR

No need to apologize. What is the URL (web link) to where you previously posted?

WFM. JR, do you still see this on a recent beta?
Hello,
I am still using 80.0b3, and message filters are not working. I have deleted all filters, created new with new names, and still not filtering.
Thank you

Can you be specific about what filter filter actions are not working.
I have a set of filters and I haven't seen any problems with them. (Running trunk all the time.)
Hello,
I am trying to run a specific message filter below. Whenever a email comes in from either of the two that I have in this filter, no actions are performed automatically. But, if I run manually, the messages are copied to the specific folder.
Manually Run (Checked)
Getting New Mail (Before Junk) (Checked)
Match Any Of The Following (Checked)
From -> Contains -> (email address)
From -> Contains -> (email address 2)
Perform Action:
Copy To A Specific Folder
I have deleted and recreated a few times, but it has never worked since past version 68.
Thank you

Hello,
On one of the email accounts, I initiated the filter log. I have had emails come through that I have filters set, but the log is blank. It is not even seeing the message filters I have in place.
Thank you

Just thinking out loud...
Has anything changed in the handling of matches? Especially anything that would differ between first and subsequent filters, or between automatic and manual filtering?
Does it matter where the match is found? For example, FROM contains "smith":
(1) John Smith (john@gmail.com)
(2) John Smith (smith@gmail.com)
(3) John Doe (smith@gmail.com)
(4) John Doe (john@gmail.com)
Which of these ACTUALLY match? Which do you expect to match?
Maybe I'm dreaming, but I seem to remember a time when you could filter on the "contains" being in either the text or the address. If that were true, the first three cases would match. Otherwise, only the address matches (Cases 2 & 3). And if only Cases 1 & 2 match, then the whole filter concept dies because some names might not be included as text in the headers. (And Case 4 is obviously a control because nothing would match.)
