User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:80.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/80.0
Steps to reproduce:
I have a lot of filters. Some don't work when email is received so the email is left in the inbox. Running the filter manually generally works correctly.
Sometimes it seems that the "OR" function doesn't work if the first test fails. Nothing else is tried after that. This on filters that have been working for years.
Actual results:
Incoming emails are left in the inbox. If the filters are run manually, they work.
Expected results:
Emails should have been moved to designated folders when received.
This has become a major annoyance in V 78 and it existed in V 68 too. Seems to be worse in 78.

Les,
Can you attach a "Filters" log - see https://wiki.mozilla.org/MailNews:Logging
First of two email address filter logs
(In reply to Wayne Mery (:wsmwk) from comment #3)
Les,
Can you attach a "Filters" log - see https://wiki.mozilla.org/MailNews:Logging
Wayne,
See attached. One log for each of two active email addresses zipped. They are large files. Both addresses are having the same problem. Sometimes the filters run fine, other times they don't.

They have entries such as "[8/24/2020, 1:57:57 PM] Filter action failed: "filterActionFailed" with error code=0x80004005"
But this is not the lower level filter log requested... please check https://wiki.mozilla.org/MailNews:Logging
I have it running now. How much of it do you need? It's very verbose.

This problem has gotten worse in TB 102. I have to manually open my inbox and "kickstart" the automatic filters by running them once manually on the whole. After that they work fine for a while.
This is becoming a dealkiller for me, I need an email client that automatically filters my emails without "forgetting" and needing occasional reminders to do that. If I have to remember to keep checking my inbox for emails it "forgot" to filter, I might as well just leave everything in the inbox. I also notice this problem occurs on the Sent Mail folder, even though I have filters ticked to run on sending.
The email log shows nothing except for entries indicating when something was successfully filtered. The emails it forgot to filter are never mentioned until I manually filter them, then they show up as having been filtered.

Yes, all the time. I saw it this week, on 115.8.1 or 115.10.1 (not sure whether it happened before or after I recently upgraded to 115.10.)
I'm also now more frequently seeing the thing where filters marked to only run on receiving new mail will spontaneously run by themselves on old mail. I have a filtaquilla filter that runs an applescript to give me prominent alerts if a certain email address gets a new email, set ONLY to run when new mail arrives. I just got 4500 alerts for emails to that address going back almost 10 years. They were all also suddenly moved to another mailbox by another filter that's only supposed to run on incoming mail.
