Steps to reproduce:

I like to set a color for the name of a folder

Actual results:

is not pssible to my knowledge ... only fr the icon of the folder.

I think it's a good thing that you can give a color to the icons of folders and sub-folders. Praise to the programmers!

Never the less I have a question respectively a proposal
Now it is the case, however, that the folder symbols are rather small and I (I’m older) therefore do not really notice the colored symbols that well.

For this reason I have 2 questions on the subject of "folder-symbol / folder-name in color" _:

Questions:

1. Is it somehow possible to have the name of the folder displayed in one color also?
   (e.g. in the same color as the folder symbol? or both linked together?)

1.1) if that doesn't work with the newest version
I like to ask the Thunderbird programmers if they can maybe pick-up the idea
"that one can display also the name of a folder in one color"
and perhaps implement such a possibility in the next version.
I think such an opportunity would be great.

2. Is it somehow possible to have the name of a folder permanently displayed in bold?
   So far I have done it with the "trick", that I have marked one mail in that folder as a unread mail.
   Tis might be a help but not a really solution

Question:
Are there any ready-made add-ons on this topic that I could try?
Or possibly instructions for a layperson (with very little programming knowledge)

My thoughts were that this – my idea obove - would lead to a better overview in the navigation area --- in other words, making things easier for the users.

The possibility for the setting of color and/or bolt might be realized in the following dialog boxes
(either only “c” or in all)
a) for a new folder
b) to rename a folder
c) for the properties of a folder

The already existing solution realized for the icons of folders is already very good,
but the colors alone for the new icons of folders are not as noticeable,
much more noticeable it would be if the whole name of the folder would be in color
see below an example created with a drawing tool program.

I made the above proposal and I have not got any Information from anyone whether it got a priority status
or wether it is not considered to be followed or whether someone is working on it.
It would be nice if I would get an Information whether I can set any hope on it that my proposal will be realised
in the near future, or why it will not get a status for realisation.

Hi, thanks for the feature request.
We currently don't plan to develop this for next release, but we're open to accept a contribution if someone wants to create a patch allowing users to extend the color customization also to the folder text.

We decided to not allow customizing the color of the text, but after the new supernova rebuild this is something that can be easily achieved via userChrome.css customization, so add-ons can implement it if they want.
