If I change the username under Server Settings we end up here:

After clicking Ok, it usually(?) leads to Thunderbird hanging and needs to be force restarted.

I didn't get this at least for the case of changing (back) to original username.

Alice, can you find the regression range?

Flags: needinfo?(alice0775)

I cannot reproduce the hang on Daily86.0a1 Windows10.

Step

  1. Tools > Account Settings
  2. Expand an mail account and choose "Server Settings"
  3. Change "User Name" field data and hit Enter
  4. "Server Settings" confirmation prompt appears. And Click OK

No hang/freeze. I don't see any problems.

I can consistently reproduce this on Debian 10 by clicking on anything to lose focus of the text-box but the issue does not appear if I press enter.

Now, I can't reproduce it using the same IMAP account, using versions 78.6.0, 85.0b3 or 86.0a1 on Ubuntu 18.04.

Each gives me the attached dialog and is okay when I clear it.
