In spite of toolkit.cosmeticAnimations.enabled = false, animation of drag and drop failure still occurs (Mac-only?)

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.14; rv:81.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/81.0
Steps to reproduce:
I tried to drag a message from one folder to another.
Actual results:
I slipped again, failed again, and Thunderbird animated its return to its start.
It hurts.
Expected results:
I understand that some people enjoy animation, and some people will find this a useful clue that they have not dragged and dropped the message.
But I often get migraines from animation, and there should be easy-to-find and easy-to-configure settings to disable as much as possible.

Did you set toolkit.cosmeticAnimations.enabled to false?

Reporter,
Do you see this also when using version 78?

What exactly do I need to do to see this animation? I tried to drag some messages to another folder, deliberately miss the target, and they just seem to disappear instantly without animation. Win10, 78.5.1 (64-bit).
Is it a MAC-only thing?
Maja, would you be able to (ask someone to) create a screencast?
About half the time there's a noticeable animation back towards the original location.

Thank you MarjaE, that helps to see what you're seeing, as I'm not.

Sorry, don't know. Is this reproducible in Firefox in the bookmark sidebar or in organizer?

I don't see any animation; I'm dragging a message to the Desktop (which doesn't work), and it just disappears.
MacOS 10.15.7, Daily 0717.
I don't seem to have a preference toolkit.cosmeticAnimations.enabled

I can't use the Firefox sidebars, because migraines.
In the Firefox library, dragging a bookmark to a spot between 2 folders usually drops it in their parent folder. But dragging a bookmark to a spot between "History" and "Downloads" leads to an animated return.
