In the latest nightlies up to and including Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98;
en-US; rv:1.2a) Gecko/2002091604, a download (like from URL above) never
terminates. It works all the way to the end, but remains at "time remaining
00:00". "Transferred" shows that the download is complete, "Speed" remains
unchanged.

Experiencing the same thing under 2002091604 trunk / XP.

I actually noticed this yesterday but thought it was simply a one-off bug.
Downloading the latest nightly today, the same thing happened.

This does not happen with http://ftp.mozilla.org/ but only with
ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/ - so it's the protocol that's having problems here. (I
was able to FTP the file from Mozilla's site via a command shell without any
problem.)

Since this was also occuring in the 9/15 builds, it must have been introduced
sometime between 9/13 and 9/15. (I did not use a 9/14 build so I can't comment.)
Is this related to bug 146574? Sounds like the same problem, but with *any* ftp
download, not just password-protected ones.
We don't have password protection here.

pi
Yes, but apart from that it seems the same.
The other difference is that this bug here is new. It worked a few days ago.

pi
Viewing a text file on a ftp server also leaves the download "running".
Is bug 169002 a duplicate? I was just about to mark it as such until I read bug
169002 comment 2 - so they are aware of this bug but think it's different, for
whatever reason.
In bug 169002, it appears that "the progress meter never paints" (i.e. the
download never gets going?). In *this* bug, the progress meter paints and
reaches 100%, but stays there without finishing.

nominating for buffy: occurs on all platforms and affects the d/l mgr.

sounds like a dup.

As comment 8 says, this is not strictly a dupe. But probably it had the same
source anyways. After checking out the broken patch it now works in Mozilla/5.0
(Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.2b) Gecko/2002091804.
