Mozregression pointed to bug 1698723 being the cause for this.
STR:
- Open the add-on manager
- Select the extensions tab
- Click on the bold name of any installed add-on
-> The management pages opens, but also a "Choose Application" dialog.

Today I learned this regression also makes it impossible to change a checkbox/option in the settings page of the add-on inspector.
