Open PDF attachment from (local) message. Opens in new tab.
Open the same PDF attachment again. Previously opened tab goes blank.

I get the same problem, but with a little variation: I open a PDF in a tab, and then I close Thunderbird, without first closing the tab with the PDF. When I reopen Thunderbird, the tab with the PDF is still open but it remains empty. And, there is no longer a way to reopen the PDF.

This bug was opened 6 months ago and it is not assigned yet?

Do you still see this with version 102?

Tons of other stuff going on, and finite resources.

Wfm on 102.1.0 (64-bit) and 105.0a1 (2022-08-02) (64-bit), also tested comment 2, on Win10.

We're not going to fix this for TB 91, where it still fails (91.11.0 (64-bit)). As a workaround, close the old PDF tab first, then reopen.
