Was the title supposed to be "Ready movemail..." ?

No, it's just re-add.

You should re-add it!

Movemail was my preferred way of mail access in the UI since more than 25 years. I fetch the mail delivered to my box from a server with suucp. Starting up some imap of pop locally to access files that i already own by supplying local credentials seems senseless to me. Sure there are only remote mail access protocols used today and noone can imagine that something different might be desirable. What i'm missing from the above and related discussion is the usual "why would you want to use movemail ? I consider it bad and so should you". The next thing i'm expecting support to disappear is uucp. Sigh. Every now and then when i attempt to do things that i do since decades i find, it does not work anymore and i have to find workarounds, change my way to do things, much more important change implementations i could write an endless list of such things, that disappear and i don't see a rationale in it except, that someone must maintain it - sure, this is an argument, but i'd like to argue, that maintaining something, that does not change, is likely very few to zero effort.
I vote for re-adding.

We need the movemail feature. Please add this support back.

Please post it if you are considered to be a tiny part of the "MOVEMAIL" users too.

I consider the movemail feature essential for my setup. On my server I fetch emails from various accounts on the internet, do locally an automatic filtering and redistribute to local email accounts. Setting up a local imap server for this purpose is not reasonable. My solution for the moment: I downgraded Thunderbird and blocked thunderbird updates in SUSE TW. The required downgrade caused a lot of trouble since I did not want my users to loose any email. I hope that the thunderbird maintainers will add the feature again while I'm currently searching for alternative email clients, suggestions welcome (I know mutt but it will not fit for all of my users).

I haven't had time to change TDB to another reader so far, but this happy decision will allow me to wait a little longer.
