173370 - can't delete download list from download manager

i tried highlighting my previously downloaded files fromt the download manager
to clean-up my list but when i tried pressing delete or click remove from list
nothing happens

Reporter, what is your mozilla build number and OS?

Please make a backup copy of 'downloads.rdf' in your profile directory,
close Mozilla, delete the file from your profile directory, restart
Mozilla, make a fresh download of something. Try deleting the record
in download manager after the download finishes. If you can delete the
record, then the problem is corrupted 'downloads.rdf' file. In that case
please post your back-up copy of the file as an attachment.

Reporter: also, go to Tools->Web Development->JavaScript console and press clear
button; then, open download manager and see if any errors appear in the console,
if yes, then click on them in turn, copy and paste the text here.
