User Story
As a Firefox user, I’d like to have a thoughtfully designed way of accessing my colorways in a surface that doesn’t feel like an afterthought. As a Product Manager, I’d like to update the about:addons UI now that we are committing to long-term investment in Colorways. We should be intentional about making this touchpoint a pleasant experience for our users.
WIP acceptance criteria from the spec (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Ja5d3TGROj1Phmm3x3ns_vUM_b0x5v-u2pEEFobtLvY/edit#heading=h.ghpcp39r2j60):
- The current about:addons page doesn’t optimize the full real estate potential of the browser screen. We should look at expanding the design horizontally to alleviate the unused space.
- Reevaluate the need/desire for the left side panel icons for design consistency
- Remove the “disabled” text association from this surface. A cleaner design would only require the “enabled” text for active themes.
- Add a quicklink to the SUMO article explaining what happens when colorways expire?
