The new mail tabs are good enough now that some people could consider dogfooding them. To enable this I'm going to have the pref mail.useNewMailTabs control which version is displayed as the first tab when a Thunderbird window opens. Some of the mechanisms related to the old mail tabs will have to be disabled when using the new mail tabs, to avoid them interfering.

Setting mail.useNewMailTabs to true will make Thunderbird open with the new mail tab as the first tab.
